Diagnosis: In a dictation, the student has grammar problems.

Possible teaching strategies:

  • Check the student’s knowledge of grammar and teach the rules not yet mastered.
  • Teach the student to ask himself questions during the dictation about the relationships among words.
  • Give the student sentences to study regularly.
  • Ask the student to summarize the rules that cause problems, to write them down in a notebook and to illustrate them with his own examples (not those in the book).

To celebrate Family Literacy Day this year the YLC will be distributing book baskets to CLSC’s throughout the area we serve. The books chosen will be aimed at children under seven.

We are looking for volunteers to organize and/or distribute the baskets to the various localities. If you have any suitable books in good condition, that you would like to donate or you would like to volunteer, please contact the office.
